Ways to Escape Genjutsu
1. One way to escape a Genjutsu once cast on you is if having the knowledge of Kai and having already realized that you are trapped with in a Genjutsu you may use Kai, which in turn if it was done correctly the Genjutsu will be disspelled and you will be free from it.

2. You gain a sufficent amount of damage or pain and the Genjutsu will be broken and you will be free.

Ways to Succesfully Cast a Genjutsu

1. There are the Sight ways of Genjutsu this is usually initiated by the Opponent looking at some part of the user. They can't just get trapped by looking at them. There has to be a trigger. A piece of jewelry, the eyes, custom jutsu have to have a specific trigger.

2. Sound- Sound would be activivated by hearing a sound such as a flute playing or the ringing of a bell which would trigger the Genjutsu and trap whoever hears the noise excluding the user.

3. Scent- The user uses a perfume of some kind to ensnare the opponent within the genjutsu. Must be within 3 meters of the enemy.

4. Touch- The most simple. A single touch can trap the opponent within the genjutsu.

Note: Genjutsu users may only have THREE of the above categories to ensnare the opponent. Using all four senses isn't fair enough.

Cooldowns and other rules

When cooling down on a Genjutsu to avoid people using the same jutsu over and over to trap people and win easily after a Genjutsu is used you must wait certain amounts of time for each rank to use a genjutsu of that rank again.

D- 2 Turns

C- 4 turns

B- 6 turns

A- 8 turns

S- 10 Turns

Now also you may not try to pile on Genjutsu where you get a Genjutsu in use then use another on the same person at the same time, However you are permitted to use a Genjutsu on multiple people such as fighting a squad you can cast one one the Genin and then another on the Jonin sensei. That was a example if you have any questions not explained here simply feel free to ask any mod or admin.
